Are Chiropractors Doctors?

Chiropractors are not medical doctors (MDs) or osteopathic doctors (DOs), they are licensed healthcare professionals who hold the title of “doctor.” They earn a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree after completing an accredited chiropractic program, which involves several years of specialized education, including coursework in anatomy, physiology, neurology, and musculoskeletal health.

Chiropractors primarily focus on diagnosing and treating disorders of the nervous system, particularly issues related to the nerves that exit the spine. Their treatment methods often involve manual adjustments, spinal manipulation, and other non-invasive therapies aimed at relieving pain and improving physical function.

While chiropractors are considered healthcare providers, their allowed scope of practice varies depending on the country or state and is controlled by the medical establishment. In most jurisdictions, they can order diagnostic tests (MRI, Ultrasound, …), provide dietary advice, or even perform physical therapy. They are not trained to prescribe medication or perform surgery, making chiropractic unique in the healthcare profession.

The Doctor of Chiropractic is equipped to rebuild and maintain the body using the tools placed in the body by the Creator.
